Stoptober is back for its eighth year, calling on England’s millions of smokers to split up from smoking for 28 days, starting on 1st October
Two thirds of Stoptober participants agree that the support of friends and family is important to their quit attempt. So, this year Stoptober will be calling on friends, family and colleagues to step up and support a smoker through their quit attempt this October.
Currently 6 out of 10 smokers say they want to quit, Stoptober is a perfect opportunity to quit with others!
There is a range of support available to you;

The best way to quit is with expert face-to-face help from local stop smoking services together with stop smoking aids; in 2018-19, 52% of smokers who got this support managed to quit.
Stoptober has generated over 1.9 million quit attempts across England since 2012, and the latest Data from the UCL Smoking Toolkit Study suggest that 2019 has seen the fastest drop in the adult smoking rate in England in over a decade.
